Features: For China, which is currently in the process of drafting a Civil Code, Mr. Zhu Yan's translation of the German Draft Bill on the Reform of the Law of Obligations provides timely reference materials for the domestic civil law academic community. Translating legislative draft explanations from foreign countries can be said to be a first, and in this sense, this book undoubtedly serves as a model. In recent years, many foreign legal codes have been translated into Chinese, but unfortunately, no one has yet translated the legislative draft explanations of these legal codes. This has left us knowing only "what" foreign legal codes are, but little about "why" they are as they are. Mr. Zhu Yan's initiative is therefore commendable. We also look forward to translating other excellent legal draft explanations into Chinese, for the reference of legislators and scholars., it is a very meaningful and bold attempt.
