Features: Professor Wang Shuwen is a renowned constitutional scholar in China, who has long been engaged in the research of constitutional law. This book is primarily a collection of his selected works compiled over the years. Professor Wang's academic research has a broad perspective, extensive scope, systematic and distinct viewpoints, and possesses unique academic characteristics. On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, we wanted to do something for the scholars who have diligently contributed to the institute over the years. After careful consideration, we decided to invite scholars who have made significant achievements in their respective fields to select and compile their works from over the years, to be published as part of the "Essentials of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences" series. Each collection begins with an academic biography. The academic biography is written by the author or commissioned by them. The formats and lengths of the biographies vary, but they all reflect the author's research journey and intellectual development, as well as their academic and personal style. The main part of each selected collection consists of the author's works from different periods. When negotiating the publication of the collections with the authors, they were concerned that republishing previously published papers might be disrespectful to readers. However, we believed that when selecting papers, authors make their own prudent academic judgments. Through the authors' careful selection, combined with the insights conveyed in the academic biographies and the historical context, we gain a deeper understanding of the content and value of each paper in the collection. At the end of each selected collection, we have appended a comprehensive bibliography of the author's academic achievements to date. This bibliography not only showcases the author's academic creativity but also, for attentive readers, reveals the author's keen insight and appropriate selection of academic topics. Of course, this does not mean that the author's academic creativity has come to an end. On the contrary, it is only a new starting point in their academic journey. An institution is like a person—it also has life. The lifeblood of the Institute of Law lies in having a continuously advancing group of scholars. We hope that this series of collections can continue to be compiled, allowing readers to continuously gain rich information accumulated over time, learn more about the academic journeys of many scholars at the institute, and reflect on the future of Chinese law when closing the book.
