Features: The sandstorm is an inherent weather and climate phenomenon in the northern deserts and sandy areas of China and their surrounding regions. This book is based on observational data from 559 stations across the country over nearly 50 years, statistically analyzing the multi-year average daily counts of various types of dust weather, including sandstorms, during the standard climate period (1971–2000) in spring and throughout the year. It also examines the percentage of multi-year average days of dust weather in each season relative to the entire year, the extreme highest and lowest number of dust weather days recorded (1954–2000), the trend coefficients of floating dust, blowing sand, and sandstorms in spring and throughout the year over the past 40 years (1961–2000), as well as the annual daily counts of various types of dust weather recorded since 1954. Corresponding isoline distribution maps are also analyzed and drawn. This atlas can serve as a reference for professionals in meteorology, environmental protection, ecology, geography, and other fields, as well as for teaching and administrative personnel who are concerned with sandstorms in northern China.
