Features: The Ministry of Science and Technology of China timely launched the National Key Basic Science and Technology Program of China, "The Formation and Evolution of the Chinese Marginal Sea and Key Issues of Major Resources." This program conducted in-depth research on key scientific issues such as the lithospheric structure and deep Earth dynamics processes of the Chinese marginal sea, the tectonic evolution of the East and South China Seas, and the control of the formation and evolution of marginal seas on the formation of major resources. To reflect the current status of marginal sea research in China, this project held an academic symposium titled "The Formation and Evolution of the Chinese Marginal Sea and Key Issues of Major Resources" on September 26-27, 2000, in Hangzhou. This book includes some of the papers presented at the symposium, covering research fields such as geology, geophysics, geochemistry, oceanography, and geodynamics.
