Is there significant harm in treating ectopic pregnancy with D&C?

Patient's question:

The last time I was pregnant, it was an ectopic pregnancy. This time I'm still having an ectopic pregnancy. Is it harmful to after an ectopic pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, I am very happy to help you solve your problem. If it has been confirmed that you have an ectopic pregnancy, it means that the fertilized egg has implanted outside the endometrium. Therefore, for an ectopic pregnancy and early pregnancy termination, the usual approach is to use conservative treatment with anesthetic drugs to force the gestational sac to disintegrate. The other option is minimally invasive surgery. It is not usually decided to resolve it through a D&C procedure, as D&C is only applicable for terminating early pregnancy in cases of intrauterine pregnancy.
