Is there a problem in treating cervical erosion during pregnancy?

Patient's question:

During my second pregnancy, I had severe itching in the vagina, and sometimes it would also bleed. It was quite difficult for me. I visited the hospital several times, but it wasn't a miscarriage situation. The doctor said it was cervical erosion and that it needed to be treated. Then I received intravenous drips, but I don't know if it will affect the child.

Doctor's answer:

If you have cervical erosion, it may cause abnormal vaginal bleeding, but the amount of bleeding is very minimal. There is no need for intravenous drip treatment for cervical erosion. After all, you are currently pregnant, and any medication could potentially harm the healthy growth and development of the fetus. Therefore, it is recommended that you temporarily avoid treating cervical erosion during pregnancy. If you are in the early stages of pregnancy, it is advisable to undergo a Down syndrome screening at 12 weeks to preliminarily assess the normal development of the fetus.
