Features: This book is compiled in accordance with the requirements of chemical teaching reform for non-chemical and chemical engineering majors. The book is divided into two parts. The first part is the basic theory and application extension of chemistry, consisting of twelve chapters. The first seven chapters focus on basic theory, mainly introducing the fundamental knowledge and theories of chemistry, including: fundamentals of chemical thermodynamics, reaction rates, solutions and chemical equilibrium, atomic structure and chemical bond theory, coordination chemistry, electrochemistry, and fundamentals of polymer compounds. The last five chapters focus on application extension, mainly introducing the role and application of chemistry in various disciplines, including: chemistry and materials, chemistry and daily necessities, chemistry and energy, chemistry and environment, and chemistry and life. The second part is the basic chemistry experiments, which includes 12 relatively distinctive experiments covering four aspects: the preparation of chemical substances, the separation and purification of chemical substances, the analysis and determination of chemical substances, and scientific research training.
