Taking birth control pills and not having a period is it pregnancy?

Patient's question:

Previously, when we shared a room, we took the birth control pill twice in a row, and our period came two days earlier than usual. The last time I had my period was on January 27th. It hasn't arrived yet this month. Could it be that I might be pregnant?

Doctor's answer:

You may easily take emergency contraception pills to cause menstrual disorders. Currently, you can first test your urine to rule out pregnancy. If it's not pregnant, you can wait or take progesterone orally to induce menstruation. It's recommended that if you're not planning to get pregnant, you should take necessary safety measures to prevent accidental pregnancy. Emergency contraception pills should not be taken casually, as they can easily cause menstrual disorders. They are suitable for emergency measures after other contraceptive methods fail and should not be used as regular contraception.
