Features: Idioms are formed from ancient Chinese fables, historical events, literary works, and contemporary spoken language through long-term refinement and evolution. They are concise yet rich in meaning, embodying profound and extensive intellectual content in just a few characters. Moreover, each idiom is backed by a colorful historical story or myth. It can be said that idioms are a magnificent bloom in the garden of traditional Chinese culture. The purpose of writing this book is to open a window for children and adolescents to understand the origins, meanings, and usage of common idioms. By reading this book, children and adolescents can not only appreciate vivid idiom stories but also gain knowledge about the meaning and usage of idioms, as well as learn about ancient Chinese history and culture. In terms of content creation, we strive to keep the plot concise and clear, with language easy to understand, making it more suitable for children and adolescents. Each idiom story is about 150 words long, using as few words as possible to tell the story clearly and distinctly, avoiding the potential boredom that lengthy text might cause.
This book also has a prominent feature: after each story, in addition to the usual "Learn" and "Apply," it includes "Think," offering small questions related to the idiom to inspire children and adolescents to think more deeply, helping them learn more. The question types include idiomatic chain games, synonyms, antonyms, and fill-in-the-blanks using animal names, numbers, and directions. This allows children and adolescents to learn one idiom while achieving the goal of broader understanding and broader application.
