Environmental Monitoring

Features: Looking back over the past 20 years, China's environmental protection efforts, while acknowledging that the environment is a component of the economy, have failed to rationally develop and utilize resources in practice. This has led to the waste of vast amounts of resources, the discharge of waste into the environment, causing severe resource waste, environmental pollution, and harm to the people. However, over the years, we have not recognized this issue from the perspective of integrating the economy and the environment. Later, we introduced "basic national policies" and "three synchronizations," and formulated many specific policies and measures, but primarily focused on pollution control—how to treat pollutants from emissions. Proven results show that over the past 20 years, we have not moved beyond the old path of "three waste" treatment in the 1960s and 1970s. However, this research has made significant breakthroughs in this regard. Therefore, transforming these research findings into productive forces and promoting their application in other industries holds great significance for the coordinated and sustainable development of China's economy, society, and environment. The book is divided into 11 chapters and corresponding appendices, including: Introduction, Basic Knowledge of Environmental Monitoring, Water Pollution Monitoring, Environmental Monitoring Quality Control, Air Pollution Monitoring, Solid Waste and Soil Pollution Monitoring, Biological Pollution Monitoring, Noise Monitoring, Radioactive Pollution Monitoring, Automatic Monitoring and Remote Sensing Technology, and Comprehensive Design Practice Training. The book elaborates on the relationship between environmental pollution and environmental monitoring, the current state of environmental monitoring in China, basic knowledge of environmental monitoring, quality assurance and control in environmental monitoring, water pollution monitoring, and other related content.
