Features: The author of this book discusses the enterprise as a form of life, arguing that it has life and death inseparable from life, birth and end—as of course the author dedicates a chapter in the book to explaining his views on the "life cycle" of the enterprise. I think his purpose is not to deny the life of the enterprise but to hope that managers do not fall into the cycle of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, but rather break through the confines of this cyclical pattern. The enterprise has life, naturally, it also has a process of growth, and at the same time, a process of decline. The process of decline is undoubtedly painful, but the process of growth is not necessarily the opposite of pain—happiness; growth can also be painful. This is not a paradox. Not only does the pressure of growth exhaust the mind and body, but more importantly, a peak in the process of growth may be the starting point of decline.
