Author: Beijing Municipal Archives
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-08-01
Features: To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World War II against Fascism, the Beijing Municipal Archives has specially selected a collection of secret telegrams, confidential documents, trial transcripts, and a large number of precious historical photographs from the archives of the Chinese resistance and Japanese aggression in China, compiling them into this book. The book is divided into three parts: September 18th—July 7th Marco Polo Bridge Incident; July 7th Marco Polo Bridge Incident—Surrender of Japan; Post-War War Crimes, War Loss Surveys, and the Trial of War Criminals in North China. To accurately and objectively recreate historical reality, the book strives to maintain the original appearance of the archival documents. Some records in the archives were made by Japanese soldiers of aggression, who stood on the stance of militarism and inevitably included views and statements that defamed the Chinese army. The book has not made any edits, allowing readers to more clearly recognize the evil face of the Japanese aggressors.
