Features: In the early Qing Dynasty, when literati painting had become rigid and clichéd, the monk Yuan Ji broke through the conventional boundaries in both the formal aesthetics and stylistic trends of painting. His landscape works expressed his emotions directly, featured innovative compositions, and were lush and unrestrained, unbound by rigid conventions. The orchids, bamboos, and flowers he depicted were also full of dynamic and free artistic spirit, bringing new vitality to the stagnant and rigid art scene. Represented by painters Yuan Jiang and Yuan Yao, landscape artists specialized in painting pavilions, towers, and terraces, integrating the grandeur of mountains with the magnificence of buildings. Their works were both meticulously detailed and powerful in, enhancing the expressive power of landscape painting. This volume includes 129 works and 250 illustrations by Yuan Ji and other landscape painters from the early Qing Dynasty.
