Features: This book introduces the entire process of the excavation of the New Stone Age Yaoshan Tombs in Yuhang, Zhejiang, as well as the over a thousand exquisite jade artifacts unearthed there. The excavation of Yaoshan began in 1987 and was simultaneously selected as one of the "Top Ten Archaeological Discoveries in China during the Seventh Five-Year Plan." The discoveries at Fanshan and Yaoshan have deepened the study of the Liangzhu Culture and advanced research on the origins of Chinese civilization. The compilation of data from these two excavation sites and the writing of the excavation reports were listed as a project supported by the National Social Science Fund during the Seventh Five-Year Plan. In the following years, the research team conducted preliminary sorting of the excavation materials and achieved some research results, which were subsequently published in relevant academic works. From 1996 to 1998, our institute conducted multiple excavations at the Yaoshan site, yielding significant findings. After the retirement of the excavation director Mou Yongkang, Rui Guoyao and Fang Xiangming comprehensively organized the historical excavation data. At the same time, they sorted the artifacts from Yaoshan that had been confiscated and collected by relevant departments in Yuhang, and included them in this book. This report was written by Rui Guoyao, with Fang Xiangming responsible for drawing and arranging the object line drawings, and the object photographs were taken by Li Yongjia.
