Features: On the occasion of the 300th anniversary celebration of St. Petersburg, a friendly city of Shanghai, the Shanghai Writers Association and Shanghai Translation Publishing House jointly compiled and published this selection of contemporary St. Petersburg writers' works, Shining Stars on the Neva River, as a gift from Shanghai writers and people to the writers and all citizens of St. Petersburg, who are far across the Gulf of Finland. St. Petersburg is the political and cultural center of Russia. It has not only nourished a wealth of world-renowned 19th-century classic writers, such as Pushkin, Dostoevsky, and Turgenev, with its rich milk but has also cultivated generations of distinctive, observant, and productive literary artists through its great traditions. Today, St. Petersburg's writers inherit the glorious tradition of their predecessors, diligently exploring and innovating, creating a series of literary masterpieces of various genres, broad themes, and profound content. This collection includes the works of thirty-six contemporary St. Petersburg writers, limited to short stories, fairy tales, and poems, which are just a small bouquet of flowers in the vast garden of Russian literature. However, these works cover all aspects, such as marriage and family, ethics and morals, children's education, social order, urban-rural conflicts, environmental protection, and Sino-Russian friendship, reflecting the writers' deep reflections on real life and their full confidence in a better future. May this book bring artistic enjoyment to all readers.
