Features: The research objects of international Sinology include all fields related to Chinese thought and culture, such as Chinese language, literature, history, philosophy, art, and religion. It emphasizes traditional classical texts while also focusing on international extension and transmission. It has the nature of diversification, marginalization, and comparative cultural studies, requiring a broader perspective, knowledge structure, and language skills beyond national and cultural research. Linguistics is a cutting-edge discipline in the contemporary era, and the study of Chinese linguistics is naturally the foundation of international Sinology. The computational application of Chinese characters in linguistics should also be given attention. Teaching and research on Chinese as a second language for foreigners are the future and hope of international Sinology, as well as the need for building bases for teaching Chinese to foreigners. They are also one of the key research focuses of international Sinology.
