Lu Xun criticized

Author: Li Changzhi
Publisher:
Publication Date: 2003-01-01
Features: Li Changzhi's Critique of Lu Xun is a small book with less than ten thousand words, but it is a renowned classic in the history of Lu Xun studies. It is the first systematic monograph in the history of Lu Xun studies, the only monograph on Lu Xun that was reviewed and approved by Lu Xun himself, and also the most frequently cited monograph in the academic field of Lu Xun studies to date. Like the author's turbulent life experiences, Critique of Lu Xun also underwent hardships and humiliation. During the years of Kuomintang rule on the mainland, it was considered left-wing literature and was excluded; during the period of Japanese and puppet occupation, it was listed as a banned book and confiscated; shortly after the founding of New China, it was insinuously accused of representing the views of "a certain time, a certain region, and a certain group of people."
