Zhang Guizheng was born in Suizhong County, Liaoning Province, in 1951 and is a member of the China Artists Association. He studied under professors Li Changbai in Nanjing, Yu Zhizhen and Tian Shiguang in Beijing. He graduated from and taught at the Fine Arts Department of Suzhou Silk Institute. Due to his unique experiences in learning and life, his works blend the boldness and vigor of northern painting with the elegance and brightness of Jiangnan, creating a harmonious and distinctive style. He emphasizes artistic conception and emotional expression, with the philosophy of "painting as a means to express emotions" being a defining feature of his work. Building upon traditional techniques, he incorporates Western colors and methods, enhancing the unique appeal of his paintings. Zhang Guizheng has made pioneering contributions to the techniques and expression of meticulous brushwork, gradually establishing his personal artistic style.
