Without vocabulary, nothing is possible! If one cannot read, isn’t it like being blind? For a blind person, any elegant sentences or profound wisdom hold no meaning, let alone achieving high scores in exams! Indeed, learning English requires memorizing words, and even more so for high scores. But how can one remember thousands of master's and doctoral degree English vocabulary words? What are the key points of the examination?
To address this, the author referred to numerous domestic and international books, reviewed English examination papers from many Chinese universities over the past decade, conducted in-depth research, and repeatedly tested the material in teaching practice while widely gathering feedback. Finally, this book was compiled.
This comprehensive manual is based on the Non-English Major Graduate English (Foreign Language) Teaching Syllabus, the Non-English Major Master's Degree English Degree Course Examination Syllabus, the Non-English Major Doctoral Degree English Degree Course Examination Syllabus, as well as the accompanying vocabulary lists, phrase lists, root lists, and affix lists. It integrates common vocabulary, point analysis, synonyms/antonyms discrimination, association memory, and several practical appendices. The book contains approximately 13,000 entries, including about 8,000 words and 5,000 common idioms. Additionally, it includes 4,000 sets of "association memory," 51,200 sets of "synonyms/antonyms discrimination," and 51,000 sets of "point analysis."
