Badminton Practical Techniques and Tactics Illustrated

Publication Date: 2003-01-01
Features: This book takes winning matches as its main theme, thoroughly describes the winning strategies in badminton, explains the technical application methods for different practical situations, emphasizes the tactical use in different areas on the court, and designs corresponding exercise methods. This enables readers to improve their technical and tactical skills in a short period, thereby winning competitions they previously lost.
Between the basic techniques and tactics of badminton and actual matches, there exists a link that we may call skill. It is the experience gained through failures by badminton players in competitions, very refined, directly reflecting the essence and laws of this sport, but lacking systematic organization, making it difficult to summarize and document. It is only mastered by professional players. This book attempts to systematize and logically organize these scattered, experiential insights and viewpoints, thereby formulating a set of universally guiding practical methods (or perhaps, practical skills) in badminton competitions, for the benefit of badminton enthusiasts.
The book includes five chapters: the first chapter explains the practical application techniques of badminton serve and return serve technology and routes; the second chapter introduces the practical handling methods of back-court balls; the third chapter covers fore-court balls; the fourth chapter discusses mid-court balls; and the final chapter is a theoretical discussion on how to prepare for competitions, how to respond to constantly changing situations on the court, and other matters to be noted in matches.
