Features: Su Shi (1037–1101) was a Chinese literary and art figure of the Song Dynasty. His courtesy name was Zizhan, also known as Heshong, and he styled himself Dongpo Jushi. He was from Meishan County, Meizhou (now part of Sichuan Province). Dongpo Zhulin can be considered Su Shi's "humorous literature." The author not only recorded many court and folk events but also incorporated numerous whimsical legends. His writing sparkled with wit. To a large extent, it pioneered the style of Ming Dynasty's short essays. The book includes several pieces by Su Dongpo, such as travel accounts, reflections on the past, personal cultivation, and health issues. It is accompanied by detailed annotations and clear, concise commentaries.
