Publish Date: 2003-07-01
Features: Since the University Japanese Proficiency Test (UJPT) was implemented nationwide in June 1993, a significant need has emerged among candidates and teachers for guidance or reference materials corresponding to the test level. This book is compiled based on the requirements of the grammar section in both the "Teaching Syllabus for University Japanese" and the "UJPT Syllabus." It is a highly targeted guidebook designed for students preparing for the UJPT, Japanese proficiency tests, and Japanese teachers. The book has the following features:
1. The book strictly adheres to the grammar requirements outlined in the "Teaching Syllabus for University Japanese" (Revised Group, Higher Education Press, 1987), "Analysis and Guidance for the UJPT" (Higher Education Press, 1996), and "Standard Japanese Grammar" by Gu Mingyao (Higher Education Press, 1997).
2. In each chapter, the university Japanese grammar is first presented, followed by targeted practice exercises at the end of each section. Reference answers are provided at the back of the book, offering readers an opportunity to study and practice simultaneously. Thus, it serves as both an accessible grammar book and a simulation test workbook, fulfilling the dual role of one book serving two purposes.
3. Unlike ordinary grammar books, this book also includes practice exercises in chapters on honorific language, syntax, and set phrases. The syntax section guides readers on how to analyze various types of Japanese sentences and enhances their analytical skills, accompanied by targeted practice exercises. In the set phrases section, an explanation of one phrase is followed by several similar expressions, providing a "learn by analogy" approach. Chapters 2, 3, 6, 8, and 9 were written by Professor Zhu Lin, while Chapters 1, 4, 5, 7, and 9 were written by Professor Ma Lanying.
During the compilation process, the book primarily referenced "Japanese Grammar" by Wang Rihe, "Modern Japanese Grammar" by Zhou Yanhui, "Japanese Set Phrases" by Zhou Yanhui, "Standard Japanese Grammar" by Gu Mingyao, as well as recently published foreign reference books such as "UJPT Simulation Test Collection" and "Japanese Proficiency Test Simulation Test Collection." The authors express heartfelt gratitude to the aforementioned authors.
The book also received enthusiastic guidance and strong support from Professor Li Yuanxi and Editor Zhang Hua of the publisher. The authors sincerely thank them for their contributions. Due to the limitations of the compilers, errors and shortcomings may inevitably exist in this book. The authors respectfully welcome readers' corrections and suggestions.
