Features: "Environmental Hydraulic Engineering" is a required professional course for the Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering program (undergraduate starting from junior college level) in the Engineering Department of the China Central Radio & Television University. This textbook was organized and compiled according to the open education teaching plan of the Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering program of the China Central Radio & Television University and the 2003-approved writing outline. It is one of the series textbooks for the open education program in Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering at the China Central Radio & Television University. Open education is a new mode of distance education. The Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering program primarily targets technicians working online, with part-time study as the main learning method, aiming to improve learners' cultural literacy and professional technical skills. In the writing of this textbook, considering the learners' abilities and environment, the educational philosophy of "student-centered self-study" was implemented, with a step-by-step approach, integrating theory with practice, striving to introduce the latest knowledge in the discipline, apply knowledge in practice, and cultivate students' ability to analyze and solve practical problems. The book is divided into 8 chapters: Chapter 1 is an introduction; Chapter 2 introduces the basic knowledge of water environment and ecology; Chapter 3 introduces water body pollution and its hazards, as well as water body self-purification and its laws; Chapter 4 introduces water quality models and water environment capacity, discussing the basic ideas and methods of water quality simulation; Chapter 5 discusses water environmental protection and management, including water body pollution monitoring and analysis, water environmental protection and management planning, and water function area zoning; Chapters 6 and 7 analyze and introduce the environmental impact assessment of water conservancy projects and the methods of environmental impact assessment; Chapter 8 introduces the environmental management during the construction and operation periods of water conservancy projects, including environmental supervision of water conservancy projects and water environment restoration technologies. To meet the needs of open distance education, the textbook includes auxiliary learning materials such as "Study Guides," "Summaries," "Exercises," and marginal notes.
