Features: This book primarily discusses from a narrow, macro-comprehensive perspective, focusing on the current realities of the Asia-Pacific, particularly its politics and economy. It does not yet constitute a truly meaningful "Asia-Pacific Studies" but rather serves as a part of it. Therefore, the title is titled "Analysis of Contemporary Asia-Pacific Politics and Economy." The basic framework and content are divided into the following sections:
Part I: The Century Section (also known as the "Macro-Theory Section"), which serves as the general introduction to the book, providing an outline and an understanding of the fundamental concepts and issues of the Asia-Pacific region. It includes four aspects: the concept of the Asia-Pacific, its characteristics, its status, and the Asia-Pacific century.
Part II: The Structure Section (also known as the "International Politics Section"), which focuses on commenting on the international relations structure of the Asia-Pacific region. It includes the evolution and basic characteristics of the post-war Asia-Pacific structure, the development trends of a diversified structure after the Cold War, the U.S.-China-Japan triangle structure and the U.S.-Japan-Russia Asia-Pacific strategy, the Asia-Pacific structure after the financial crisis, and the security situation and security strategies of the Asia-Pacific. To highlight China, a separate section is dedicated to: China's Status and Strategy in the Asia-Pacific.
Part III: The Economy Section (also known as the "Economic Organizations Section"). This section covers the characteristics, trends, and structure of economic development in the Asia-Pacific region, the development and formation factors of the financial crisis, as well as the development of APEC and China's countermeasures.
Part IV: The Model Section (also known as the "Modern East Asia Section"), which focuses on discussing the modernization process of East Asian countries and regions and the unique development paths and experiences they have created. To argue this point, this section begins with a comparative study of the world's modernization process and East Asia's modernization process. It provides a detailed analysis of the three factors contributing to the rise of East Asia: comprehensive economic factors—economic nationalism, political factors—authoritarianism, and East Asia's international and domestic objective factors. Finally, it focuses on discussing the basic characteristics of the East Asian model and some reflections on the East Asian model after the financial crisis.
