Features: This book is a preparation guide for the "Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics" exam for postgraduate entrance exams in engineering and technology, as well as economics and management in 2004. It is compiled based on the lecture notes of the author from his many years of teaching in postgraduate entrance exam tutoring classes (advanced classes) across the country. The book is divided into three parts: lecture notes, analysis of past exam questions, and appendices (national standards).
The "Lecture Notes" section is divided into five chapters: Random Events and Probability (6 hours), Random Variables and Their Distributions (3 hours), Multidimensional Random Variables and Their Distributions (5 hours), Numerical Characteristics of Random Variables and the Central Limit Theorem (6 hours), and Mathematical Statistics (5 hours). The second part, "Analysis of Past Exam Questions," provides an analysis of questions from 2000 to 2003, including "Content Distribution" and "Question Type Distribution." The third part includes appendices 2-5, which provide percentile tables for the normal distribution, chi-square distribution, t-distribution, and F-distribution according to the new national standards, which have been officially used in postgraduate entrance exams. For the convenience of candidates' review, each sub-section of the book proposes several questions for reflection, and spaces are left in the book for candidates to fill in their answers.
The author has years of teaching experience in postgraduate entrance exam tutoring classes (advanced classes) across the country and deeply understands the difficulties and confusions of candidates. Therefore, the book closely aligns with the exam syllabus and practical exam scenarios. In each chapter, knowledge network diagrams and assessment requirements are compiled, with targeted analysis of key and difficult content from multiple perspectives and different angles. At the same time, questions are posed to candidates for reflection, and typical examples are explained using multiple methods to broaden students' thinking and quickly improve their ability to analyze and solve problems in exercises and practical applications.
This book can serve as a teaching aid or reference book for the 2004 postgraduate entrance exam in mathematics (from Mathematics I to Mathematics IV) for "Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics" in engineering and technology, as well as economics and management. It is also a good study guide or reference book for undergraduates in science and technology, economics and management, and mathematicians.
