Features: In many industries, high-level technology integration is still very important for improving R&D. However, if a company chooses technologies that cannot work together, it may end up with a product that is difficult to produce, enters the market too late, and fails to meet expected goals. In this article, based on ongoing research into various aspects of the global computer industry's R&D activities, the author argues that, for obvious reasons, technology integration is becoming increasingly important while also more challenging. The number of technologies available for companies to choose from has grown significantly. The technological breadth in products or manufacturing processes, as well as the potential sources of technology, have greatly increased. Product lifecycles have been significantly shortened, forcing companies to develop new technologies and commercialize them more quickly than ever before. Therefore, now, the advantage often lies with those who are skilled at selecting from a large number of available technologies, rather than those who develop these technologies.
