Features: We live in a world full of challenges, where science and technology are undergoing rapid and ever-changing advancements. Humans have already landed on the moon and sent probes to Mars, and electronic information technology has become an integral part of our lives. However, no matter how advanced science and technology become, humans remain the center of the world; although satellites and spacecraft are very important to us, the problems of humans are even more significant. Science and technology can bring people closer to space, but they cannot make people living in the same community get along harmoniously. Personal issues, family issues, and social issues are always present around us. Social problems such as drug addiction, crime, mental illness, suicide, dropout, homelessness, and unemployment severely affect people's lives and social development. Can these problems be solved? The answer is affirmative. There are many professions in society that have emerged for this purpose, and social work is one of them. So, what is social work? What are its types? What are its special value concepts? What are its professional knowledge and skills? How is professional service conducted in the practical field? These are the issues that this book needs to explain.
The National Planning Textbook is compiled according to the teaching outlines for the newly promulgated moral education courses, cultural foundation courses, professional technical foundation courses, and the main courses of 80 key construction majors by the Ministry of Education, and has been approved by the National Committee for the Examination of Secondary Vocational Education Textbooks. The new textbooks fully implement the concept of quality-oriented education, starting from the actual needs of high-quality laborers and intermediate and junior specialized talents in social development, and focus on cultivating students' innovative spirit and practical abilities. The new textbooks have made some new attempts in terms of theoretical systems, organizational structure, and explanatory methods. The new textbooks adopt a "one syllabus, multiple textbooks" approach, striving to provide options for textbook selection, meeting the teaching needs of different academic systems, different majors, and different educational conditions.
