Features: The format of this textbook draws inspiration from Liu Xie's "Wenxin Diaolong," which elaborates on the characteristics of literary genres. Specifically, it follows the principle: "Trace the origin to understand the manifestation, explain the names to clarify the meaning, select texts to determine the genre, and elaborate on principles to establish the overall framework." (Quoted from the Preface of "Wenxin Diaolong" by Liu Xie). These four sentences by Liu Xie actually represent four steps: First, trace the origins of literary genres and understand their evolution; Next, explain the concepts of literary genres and demonstrate their meanings; Then, select exemplary texts to illustrate their typical characteristics; Finally, argue for the norms of literary genres to guide shared adherence. Liu Xie's innovative approach to deeply exploring the features of literary genres is highly insightful. However, considering the limited academic hours and the fundamental teaching goal of improving writing skills, we have omitted the content related to the origins and evolution of literary genres. Instead, we focus on teaching and designing training for specific genre techniques, emphasizing "explaining the names to clarify the meaning," "selecting texts to determine the genre," and "elaborating on principles to establish the overall framework."
