Features: The ci form, as an ancient Chinese literary genre, is as much a treasure of traditional culture as poetry. It is a precious heritage that our Chinese nation takes pride in and cherishes. However, since the ci is closely related to music, people often find its unique and complex phonetic and rhythmic rules more difficult to learn and understand than poetry, creating a certain barrier and hindering the study and appreciation of the ci. To remove this barrier and clear the obstacles, we have compiled this standardized reader on the ci. A "standardized reader" means that amidst diverse opinions, we adopt widely recognized interpretations to guide readers in grasping the basic common knowledge and basic rules of the ci, as well as understanding its historical development and evolution. In this book, apart from providing a detailed account of the origins, characteristics, and patterns of the ci, we focus more on describing how the ci has accompanied social changes, experienced its own development and transformation, and how the fate of ci poets has intertwined with the fate of society. Thus, we can appreciate the value of life by exploring the historical panorama of rich and diverse humanistic spirit and personal images composed of works from different periods and authors.
