Features: All human emotions can be expressed through the act of looking. "Love at first sight" is due to looking, "passing a message with eyes" requires the ability to look, and "enmity arising from mutual suspicion" is the result of seeing conflicts. There are also phrases like "staring sideways," "eyes bursting with anger," "contempt," "scorn," "longing," "staring," and many more. The ways humans look are diverse, and the study of looking is vast. It can be said that the history of human civilization is inseparable from looking. Looking—communication and connection; looking—gives this world color. Many beautiful things in the world were born out of the need to look, such as architecture, decoration, clothing, movies, books, and more. Seeing—more than just a coincidence; many stories in the world have unfolded because of seeing. In this travelogue, I record the history of my family's foreign affairs: in 1917, my uncle crossed the sea to Japan; in 1936, my father traveled west to Britain; in 1958, my relatives went north to the Soviet Union; and by 1979, I flew west to France. A total of 85 years, almost a century, a century worth of recording. This century was unprecedentedly turbulent, earth-shattering in human history, where the two world wars the only ones humans have ever had both occurred. In this century, the world's most powerful nation shifted from Britain to the United States; in this century, a socialist country—Soviet Union—emerged, yet it ended its 74-year history abruptly; in this century, China transformed from a humiliated, impoverished feudal country into a dignified, strong socialist country; and in this century, the continents of Asia, Central and South America, Africa, and Australia truly ended colonial rule.
