United States Famous University Architecture Watercolor Collection

Features: This book is primarily aimed at students. The paintings in this collection primarily use traditional dry and wet watercolor techniques as the basic methods, with some additional techniques like oil pastels applied to the old buildings. Each painting will detail the specific techniques used. The book emphasizes realism and the sense of life drawing, deliberately downplaying creative intent because the architectural styles of some buildings at the same university can be quite similar. It is indeed challenging to emphasize a distinct creative inclination in each painting. This is one reason; the second reason is that this collection of paintings primarily focuses not on having different creative ideas in each piece, but rather on observing and depicting the scenes. This approach is closer to reality and thus provides more substantial help to students. The five renowned universities included in this book are: Yale University, Harvard University, Princeton University, Stanford University, and the University of California. Except for the latter, which is a public university, the rest are among the top four private universities in the United States and are all world-famous institutions. These five universities were selected for their representativeness. The author spent nearly a year painting these 100 works. Some of the photographs were taken by the author himself, while the rest were selected from publications introducing American universities. The watercolor paintings and text were drawn and written by Yu Chunming, with translation by Yu Kan.
