The author spent over a decade photographing Huizhou architecture, demonstrating immense dedication and undertaking an arduous project. The author conducted a comprehensive survey of the residential architecture in the one prefecture and six counties of ancient Huizhou, conducting in-depth field research and consulting with local experts and cultural authorities to make the best selections. From over 600 Huizhou architectural sites, more than 100 were rigorously chosen, and from over 6,000 photographs, more than 800 were selected and compiled into this book. Therefore, it is currently the most comprehensive "photographic collection of Huizhou architecture," not only serving as a book with universal aesthetic value but also as one with professional academic significance.
