Features: This book is a planned teaching material for the mechanical engineering and automation major in universities in the new century, compiled in line with the spirit of the "Reform Plan for Teaching Content and Curriculum Systems in Higher Education Towards the 21st Century" by the Ministry of Education. The book is divided into twelve chapters. The first six chapters mainly introduce the basic theories and fundamental knowledge of testing technology, including: Introduction, Signal Analysis, Basic Characteristics of Testing Systems, Principles and Applications of Common Sensors, Signal Conversion and Measurement Circuits, and Testing Signal Processing. The last six chapters focus on engineering applications, introducing practical testing technologies in engineering. They elaborate on the testing methods for typical parameters in engineering (such as displacement, vibration, strain, force, torque, temperature, pressure, and flow rate), as well as digital filtering, the composition and design of computer testing systems, and virtual instruments. The book reflects the new trends of testing technology towards automation and intelligence, as well as the application of computers in testing technology, and helps students learn to apply the acquired testing technology knowledge to design or construct modern testing systems. Considering the teaching requirements of broad-spectrum mechanical engineering programs, the last six chapters are arranged in a way that allows for flexibility in content selection based on different professional directions and credit hours. The book emphasizes broadening the foundation of basic knowledge, strengthening the engineering context, and cultivating students' innovative and engineering practical abilities. It reflects the new developments and knowledge in the field of testing technology. In terms of content presentation, the book strives for conciseness. This book serves as a textbook for undergraduate students in mechanical engineering and automation, and can also be used by related majors as well as reference material for engineering technicians.
