1. Since 1993, the China Ethnic Studies Annual has been published annually, aiming to provide a concise introduction and evaluation of the major achievements and progress in the field of ethnic studies during the year.
2. The 2001 volume of the China Ethnic Studies Annual presents information on ethnic studies in China during 2001. This volume consists of nine sections. The Review of a Century of Ethnic Studies section reviews the research on the history of the Khitan and Jurchen peoples, the history of the Baiyue ethnic groups, and the general overview of Altaic language studies in the 20th century. The Special Articles section introduces the Central South University for Nationalities, the Tibet University for Nationalities, the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Ethnic Studies, teaching and research institutions of anthropology and ethnology in Taiwan, and the Department of Anthropology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Additionally, this volume includes sections such as Overview of Research Progress in the Discipline, Symposium on Academic Hot Issues, Interviews with Scholars, Memorial of Scholars Who Passed Away During the Year, Academic Activities, Bibliography and Index, and Appendix.
