Author: (German) Schr?der (ed.)
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2002-03-01
Features: The "170 Studies for Cello" compiled by the German (American) cellist C. Schroder has been widely used by many peers worldwide as a foundational teaching material. This textbook features concise selection of repertoire and a systematically structured curriculum. It comprehensively covers various technical aspects, including finger positions across all positions, bowing techniques, particularly shifting between strings and dynamic control exercises. The difficulty progression is well-organized, reflecting the principle of gradual learning. This textbook serves as a relatively comprehensive resource for cultivating diverse musical talents (including orchestral players, chamber musicians, ensemble performers, and soloists). Through years of teaching practice, I believe this material is highly effective. The People's Music Publishing House previously published a photocopied edition of this textbook in 1979. At the invitation of the publisher, I have revised and updated this material, providing explanations for the training objectives and practice methods of each exercise. For my personal "opinions," I sincerely welcome feedback from fellow professionals to further refine and improve this textbook in the future.
