Publishing Date: 2004-04-01
Features: We hope you can enjoy playing four-hand ensemble pieces with your friends, parents, and teachers. Here are some helpful tips for you:
1. During practice, don’t always play only one part. Once you’ve mastered one part, you might enjoy swapping with your partner to play the other part.
2. Before starting to play, count a short measure of time and tap the beat silently with your left hand. Take turns counting between the two of you. If someone makes a mistake or gets lost, be prepared to pick up from any measure or any beat.
3. Whenever you see the "little glasses" symbol, pay attention to your partner’s face and hands. It will help you stay in sync at the beginning, end, pauses, when the music slows down, and when it speeds up again.
4. Pay close attention to the dynamics of the music. The second part should never be played with more intensity than the first part.
