Features: In the process of understanding Mr. Lu Zuofo, our souls have been repeatedly purified. Compared to the responsibility of retrieving and evaluating another lonely political civilization, the praise or criticism of our personal creations hardly counts for much. It is enough for us to add a touch of our own to the ranks of those studying Mr. Lu Zuofo. A year and a half of creative experience has brought us another great joy. Beyond the exploration we have made within the genre of biographical literature to the best of our ability, what is more important is the sense of responsibility and pleasure in creating not just for literature, but for literary criticism—this is an experience and feeling we have never had before. Mr. Lu Zuofo was a modern renowned industrialist, thinker, and educator. Mao Zedong, Chiang Kai-shek, Liang Shuming, and Huang Yanpei, among others, held him in high regard. In the mid-1950s, when Mao Zedong spoke of the development of China's national industry, he mentioned four industrialists who could not be forgotten: Zhang Zhidong for heavy industry, Fan Xudong for chemical industry, Lu Zuofo for transportation, and Zhang Jian for textile industry. Due to historical reasons, for a long time, Mr. Lu Zuofo's name seemed to have been forgotten. At a time when a lack of ideals and integrity has become a problem in today's economy, Mr. Lu Zuofo has been recalled as a role model and source of ideas, much like Chen Yinque, who became a sensation in academia in the 1990s. Just as Chen Yinque will be a focal point in the early 21st century, so too will Mr. Lu Zuofo. This book is a literary biography of Mr. Lu Zuofo.
