Features: Master of meticulous ink and heavy color figure painting, Ren Shuangying, has been gone for 14 years. The Chinese (huanyhua) and nianhua (new year pictures) art he left behind continues to be cherished by people. Many of his works have been re-released, showing their enduring vitality. This work, "Yue Yun," is one of them. The success of this piece lies in its perfect portrayal of Yue Yun's image as a young hero. The painter not only captures his youthful handsomeness, determination, and bravery but also depicts his growth from childhood to adolescence. The portrayal of surrounding characters, such as the gentle and dignified grandmother and the simple and honest Niu Gao, is equally well-executed. The depiction of the environment and the use of color in the work showcase ingenious and rigorous artistic conception and exquisite, unique techniques. When Yue Yun kills enemies and wins victory, determined to march forward, riding on horseback in the towering mountains with lush pines and green cypresses, an image of a noble patriotic young hero deeply lingers in our hearts, granting us a rich artistic enjoyment.
