Remnants of a Stable Government and Continued Remnants of a Stable Government were written by Chen Hongmo (1474–1555) of the Ming Dynasty. Remnants of a Stable Government was completed in the 16th year of the Zhengde reign (1521) and focuses on the observations of the Hongzhi era, divided into two parts: "Part One concerns court and temple affairs, while Part Two deals with matters of officials," mostly based on contemporary observations. The other work, Dreams of the Pine Window, was written by Zhang Han of the Ming Dynasty and is a late-life reflection on his life's experiences. The book consists of eight volumes and thirty-three chapters, covering topics such as local customs and human relations, frontier affairs, industry and finance, and grain transport. This book is quite famous in the field of Ming history research, and its materials have been frequently cited by scholars both at home and abroad.
