Features: Xu Ke (1869–1928) compiled it. Ke's original name was Chang, styled Zhongke, and also used the pen names Zhongke and Zhongyu. He was from Hang County, Zhejiang (now Hangzhou). A graduate of the Guangxu imperial examination, he was one of the editors of Ci Yuan (A Dictionary of Chinese Idioms).
