Features: Ancient China experienced frequent wars and had rich military combat experience. Military treatises, known as "" (bingshu), are extensive, like a forest in history, with profound and extensive content, grand and open, holding an important position among the vast ancient classics. Due to the broad meaning of the character "" (bing) in ancient times, it encompasses various interpretations such as soldiers, armies, military strategists, wars, military affairs, weapons, battles, and tactics. Therefore, the statement by Ruan Xiaoxu of the Liang Dynasty that "" (bing) is the "general name for martial affairs" is quite reasonable. As a result, books studying various aspects of martial affairs are called "" (bingshu), and the "Dictionary of Modern Chinese" defines bingshu as "the general term for ancient Chinese military works." Like other social phenomena and things, bingshu did not exist from the beginning but was a product of social development to a certain class, with its own process of emergence and development.
