Features: The conclusions of the articles are three points:
(1) Gourds were natural containers for the primitive ancestors of China. Gourd containers served as natural models for the creation of pottery by the ancient Chinese people.
(2) "The of the Po" states, "The gourd vine is long, people's beginning was born," which is a legend about the origin of the primitive ancestors of China. The ancestral spirit gourd in the Ailao Mountains of Nanhua County, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan, and the worship of pottery pots among the Paiwan people of Taiwan are remnants of the primitive creation belief that "humans originated from gourds."
(3) Primitive gourd worship and various variations of it exist widely among many ethnic groups in China, reflecting that the primitive ancestors of all ethnic groups in China shared a common material environment and had long-standing economic and cultural exchanges. This shared ideology demonstrates that all ethnic groups in China are indeed brothers with a common traditional culture of primitive gourd worship. Due to the establishment of the International Symposium on Folk Culture and Tourism with Gourd Culture as the theme, this book "Gourds and Famous Scenic Spots" was created. In addition to compiling the papers of scholars and experts attending the symposium, this collection also selects some relevant discussions by renowned scholars, striving to provide a more comprehensive reflection of all aspects of gourd culture. Of course, due to limitations, it is impossible to achieve true comprehensiveness.
