Features: This textbook adoption project was jointly organized by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Press, with extensive participation from domestic experts and professors in the field of information science and technology. After multiple selections of foreign textbooks and referencing the curriculum designs of renowned universities both domestically and internationally, the textbooks were systematically adopted. Among them, Professor Silberschatz's classic work, "Operating System Concepts," published by John Wiley & Sons and authored by the Vice President of the Information Science Research Center at Bell Labs, was successfully adopted after extensive negotiations and efforts. Mr. William Stallings has authored a widely popular series of textbooks on information science and technology in the United States, with several of his works receiving the Computer Science and Engineering Textbook Award from the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). Two of his books are included in this adopted series. Jiawei Han, a Chinese scholar who studied in the United States.
