Features: The New Selected Thousand Poems preserves the accessibility, simplicity, and focus on Tang and Song Dynasty regulated verse of the original Thousand Poems, while innovating in its selection and arrangement. It eliminates weak and mediocre works, adding 180 renowned poems by famous Tang and Song poets. The poems are organized in the order of five-character quatrains, five-character regulated verse, seven-character quatrains, and seven-character regulated verse, making it easy to find specific works. Each poem is followed by necessary commentary and annotations, concise yet elegant, catering to both scholars and general readers. It is an excellent selection for popularizing the education of classical Chinese poetry and verse.
