Features: The book presents to readers the speeches of some experts from the large-scale academic exchange activities held periodically by the library for the entire faculty and students since the new library of our university was completed in 1989. Life is inseparable from society, and social hot issues should naturally be the focus of university students. The academic reports timely explain topics such as "One Country, Two Systems," "The Return of Hong Kong and Macao," "The Asian Financial Crisis," "The Trend of Taiwan Elections," "The Dissolution of the Soviet Union," "The China-U.S. Relationship," and more. Senior commentators, journalists, and scholars use substantial evidence to uncover the truth behind events, point out the direction of development, and express diverse opinions—where the wise see wisdom and the benevolent see benevolence. This broadens the horizons of young students and inspires their research perspectives. At the same time, through their analysis of international and domestic situations, the experts promote Marxism, dialectical materialism, and the party's line, principles, and policies, helping to establish a correct worldview, life philosophy, and moral outlook for young students, playing an important role in cultivating talents with both moral integrity and competence.
