In Chapter 4: Methods for Drawing the Development of Typical Component Surfaces, Section on Thickness Treatment: For workpieces made of metal sheet material, when the thickness of the metal sheet is less than 1.2mm, the thickness issue can be ignored. If the sheet material thickness is greater than 1.2mm, the thickness will affect the dimensions and shape of the workpiece to a certain extent. To address this, corresponding measures must be taken, and the process of implementing these measures is called thickness treatment. For example, if two steel plates with thicknesses of 2mm and 10mm are used to make a cylindrical workpiece with an inner diameter of 400mm, the cutting perimeter of the former will be π(400 + 2)mm, while that of the latter will be π(400 + 10)mm. This difference is the result of thickness treatment.
