Features: Supported by the fund of the Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration, the open fund of the State Key Laboratory of Resource and Environmental Information System, and the National Outstanding Young Talent Fund, the research and construction project of the Integrated Seismic Catalog Information System in China and adjacent regions was fully launched. This project comprehensively compiled 124 original catalogs from both China and abroad and developed an Integrated Seismic Catalog Database through a series of processes including selection, verification, comparison, deduplication, and cross-checking. The database collects over 710,000 seismic events from the 1st century BC to the year 2000 in China and adjacent regions, with attributes including occurrence time, latitude and longitude, various magnitudes, energy magnitude accuracy, and data sources, among more than 50 items. It has significantly improved in terms of data completeness, accuracy, standardization, and informatization. This book presents the research outcomes of the project. Chapters 3 explore and introduce the theoretical, methodological, and technical issues encountered in the establishment of the Integrated Seismic Catalog Database System; Chapters 4 and 5 focus on the application of the Integrated Seismic Catalog Database on the Geographic Information System platform for seismic spatial distribution feature analysis and seismic sequence feature analysis. This book is practical in purpose, striving to organically integrate the theory, methods, and techniques of seismic catalog information systems. It serves as a reference for earthquake-related researchers and professionals.
