Patient's question:
I have candidal vaginitis, cervicitis, and leukorrhea that is watery, like porridge, or like curd. Is it necessary to have a colposcopy to check for Naegler's cysts and cervical hypertrophy? Is this indicative of cancer?Doctor's answer:
Leukorrhea appears like curd-like discharge, which is typically a characteristic of candidal vaginitis. Leukorrhea being watery or like rice-water is quite different, and so on. Any change in the of leukorrhea indicates that vaginitis has already developed. Cervical nabothian cysts and cervical hypertrophy are manifestations of chronic cervical inflammation. However, these are not signs of cancer. There is no need to worry excessively. If vaginitis is present, the causative agent can be identified through leukorrhea routine tests, and active treatment can be initiated. The cervix should undergo cervical anti-aging screening, including Papanicolaou (Pap) tests and HPV tests. If the screening results are normal, there is no need to be overly concerned, and periodic genetic screening can be conducted.
