Is it normal to have less and lighter-colored lochia after a cesarean section?

Patient's question:

Post Cesarean Section on the 42nd day, lochia has stopped, but very, very little. Every two or three days, there's a tiny bit of very light red. Is this normal?

Doctor's answer:

Generally, postpartum bloody lochia lasts for 3 to 4 days, followed by serous lochia which continues for about 10 days, gradually increasing to become white lochia. White lochia lasts for about 3 weeks to clear up. If uterine involution is incomplete or there is residual tissue in the uterine cavity, the duration of bloody lochia is prolonged and may have an odor. At 42 days, it is recommended to have an ultrasound re-examination of the pelvic cavity. New Life Granules can be taken orally.
For the patient, if the cesarean section condition is severe, symptomatic treatment should be administered immediately, with appropriate medication, otherwise it may lead to a recurrence of the cesarean section. Additionally, the patient needs to maintain a positive mood to avoid worsening the condition.
