What are the initial symptoms of ovarian inflammation?

Patient's question:

What are the symptoms of ovarian inflammation?

Doctor's answer:

Ovaritis is a type of pelvic inflammatory disease in women. It is caused by infection leading to inflammation of the ovaries, resulting in severe sequelae such as ovarian adhesion, tight fallopian tube, abscesses, and intestinal obstruction, which can cause infertility. Generally, non-specific ovarianitis is divided into acute and chronic types. In most cases, if it is acute, symptoms such as fever, abdominal pain, and a sense of fullness in the rectum may recur; while chronic cases may present with systemic weakness, poor mental state, menstrual disorders or changes in menstrual volume, or even the discovery of masses in the lower abdomen. It is usually accompanied by pelvic inflammation.
